We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff. They couldn't do enough for us and even invited us to a BBQ on our first night. The cottage itself was lovely, with breathtaking mountain views and beautiful gardens surrounding it. It was spacious and cozy, with all the necessary cooking facilities and a comfortable living area. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculate and extremely comfortable. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting outside in the evening, taking in the stunning views. The location of the hotel was rural, which added to its charm. we highly recommend this hotel to future visitors.
Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes.

We got great value for our money at this charming little place. The room was spacious, beautifully presented, and had stunning mountain views. The location was perfect for us, secluded enough to feel peaceful and serene, yet still a short drive to Milford Sound. The staff were amazing, super friendly and welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Highly recommend!
The breakfast selection could have been better, but everything else was fantastic.

We recently stayed at a charming cottage located in the beautiful mountains. the views were absolutely breathtaking, and we loved how the other cottages were visually separated, giving us a sense of privacy. the gardens were impeccably maintained, adding to the overall appeal of the place. Our cottage was spotless and quiet, providing a peaceful retreat. the disabled-accessible shower/bathroom and comfortable bed were a plus. the hosts were friendly and always ready to help, offering recommendations for bushwalking and restaurants. Blue Thistle Cottages provided us with a delightful and affordable experience, and we especially enjoyed the stunning 360-degree view of the surrounding nature. It's the perfect spot for relaxation and tranquility. Cons: Nothing, it is perfect! 👌.

Lovely cottage, stunning mountain views, but who needs a kitchen when you can have an electric frying pan? And forget about privacy, because someone might just walk into your room. Perfect for those who crave adventure and unexpected surprises.

The bathroom was amazing, with heated towel rails, fluffy robes, and complimentary toiletries. It felt like being in a spa! The bedroom had a cozy queen bed with quality linen and an electric blanket. I slept like a baby. The cottages were quiet and cozy, perfect for a relaxing getaway. I loved that every cottage had a private bathroom with a shower. It was convenient and made me feel at home. The warm fluffy bathrobes were a nice touch, making me feel like a pampered guest. Double glazing throughout the cottages ensured a peaceful and quiet stay. The fact that each unit had a private bathroom with free toiletries was a great convenience.
Personally, I didn't enjoy the freestanding cottages as much. I prefer a more connected feeling with other guests.

The cottage at Blue Thistle was absolutely perfect for a beach lover like me. The bedroom had a cozy queen bed with soft linen and an electric blanket, making it super comfy for a good night's sleep.
Though some might enjoy it, personally, I found the private bathroom with only a shower a bit limiting.
